Our wines.

The philosophy behind Tickerage is simple. To create wines that reflect and celebrate the natural environment that created them. To allow each wine to tell its own story and for us to share the wine we love with you.

Our sparkling wine is made in the Traditional Method and has spent at least five years in the bottle undergoing secondary fermentation on the lees. All our wines are produced from the grapes we have grown in that particular year, capturing the natural expression of the growing season.

Classic Cuvée

‘Variety is the spice….’

Our Classic Cuvée is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. This Traditional Method Sparkling Wine is blended from the grapes grown that year. This means each vintage is different from the last

Why not try each of our currently available vintages to see the difference each year East Sussex weather has to offer?

Did you know, wine makers use the term cuvée with several different meanings, more or less based on the concept of a tank of wine put to some purpose.

The 2013 Classic Cuvée is a perfect aperitif for those wanting a little more from their sparkling - lots of baked apple richness, citrus freshness and bready complexity.

2014 was such a great growing year we produced our first zero dosage sparkler. A particular favourite of our youngest daughter’s partner, get in quick before they’re all gone!

Sparkling Rosé

‘Summer fruits’

Always Zena’s favourite, for some reason we seem to sell out (or simply run out!) of our sparkling rosé before anything else. We keep our production run of rosé deliberately low, using only the best grapes for our signature wine.

After spending so long on the lees, it’s inevitable that some of the delicious pink colour is lost during the disgorging process. So we add just a few ml of our Rondo/Regent wine, to bring the colour back.

We love the flexibility of our sparkling rosé, equally at home as a lunchtime toast to friends, paired with food or even around the fire on a dark winter’s night to remind you of sunnier days.

Blanc de Blancs

‘Honey and apple’

This is Anthony’s personal favourite, a big, powerful show stopper of a wine.

No more needs to be said - try it!

Did you know, the term Blanc de Blancs designates wines made only from Chardonnay grapes and considered by some to be the purest sparkling wine.

A big and powerful wine, this wine loves to be paired with food. Packed full of aromas, the extended lees ageing brings complexity and depth of flavour.

Pinot Meunier

‘New to the Party’

Our most recent release, this 100% Pinot Meunier was a little experiment that worked perfectly. With plenty of ageing under its belt, this is another big, punchy wine, destined to be consumed with food.

Also known as Blanc de Noirs, this is a white wine made from only red grapes - single varietal Pinot Meunier makes this special wine a real standout!

Another stunner from the superb 2014 harvest, this wine joins its sibling, the 2014 Classic Cuvée, in being zero dosage.

We also feel it has the coolest label!

Still wine and Cyder.

While our focus is and always will be to create exceptional sparkling wines, each year brings its own surprises and that has led us to create a small and very limited range of still wines and our infamous sparkling cyder.

2018 Chardonnay

‘Clean and crisp’

The Chardonnay clones gave us such a wealth of perfect fruit, it was hard to pick which blend we should go for. We love the result, we hope you do too.

Aged for 11 months in tank and a further 11 months in bottle before release. Pale, lemony gold in colour, it has a fresh, zesty nose with hints of asparagus and tropical fruits.

This unoaked Chardonnay has been created with minimal intervention and is unfiltered. This retains as much of the flavour as possible, fresh and creamy on the palate with notes of ripe lemon zest and fresh cut pineapple. A smooth, fresh finish with good longevity.

Due to the minimal intervention, this wine may develop small crystals. These are perfectly natural, not harmful and should not spoil your enjoyment of a wonderful Chardonnay!

Once again, we only ran a small batch, just 3,000 bottles, and we are not sure if we'll ever make another, so have a taste and let us know what you think!

2018 White Pinot Noir

‘A genuine rarity’

The Pinot clones harvested in October 2018 were deliciously ripe and perfect and fermented without any drama before Winter 2018. Come early Summer 2019, we completed the blending trials for the 2018 sparklers and there was a small batch of high-quality Pinot Noir spare, so we decided to create a unique white Pinot Noir.

Pinot Noir wine is most commonly red in colour, gained by leaving pressed grapes in contact with the skins of the grapes for an extended period, so that the colour from the skins is extracted by the juice.

As we never intended to make a still Pinot Noir in October 2018, we pressed the grapes for sparkling production as usual. Hence our Pinot juice was clear - white Pinot Noir.

We tank aged this wine on a light lees, giving a soft and elegant Pinot. It is a light straw colour, with soft tropical fruits on the nose. This wine has a full, silky mouth with a zesty nature and a gentle, tropical palate.

Only 850 produced.

Rosé 2018

‘Strawberries and cherries’

With nearly 2 years in tank, this gorgeous rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Pale copper in colour this wine has a delicate vanilla and rose petal aroma. The creaminess obtained by extended tank maturation combines perfectly with strawberries and cherries on the palate.

We were on holiday when the UK went into lockdown, and returned to a very different world. With fabulous weather through April and May we would often finish work in the vines and retire to a little sun trap around the back of the winery where we enjoyed sampling this rosé straight from the tank. So there are slightly less bottles available than pre lockdown quantities!!

This is a well balanced wine with a wonderful finish will always remind us of those gloriously sunny days of early Summer 2020.

2000 bottles produced (minus a couple of dozen due to the perfect rosé drinking weather in April and May 2020!)

2011 Cyder

‘Luxurious’

The same care and dedication that goes into our English sparkling wines is lavished on this fine English Cyder. Using locally sourced apples the first press juice undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and is aged on the lees for a minimum of 9 years to create a truly luxurious Cyder.

This Cyder is intended to be served as you would our sparkling wine, in flutes or tulip glasses.

A fantastic alternative to sparkling wine, with all the fizzy glamour!

Reviews and recognition.

Our aim is to share the wine we have lovingly made with people. We are simply driven to do this by something inside. So it is always lovely to connect with people and receive feedback on the wine and the service we provide, learn from it and improve.

Since our 2009 Sparkling Rosé won silver at the International Wine Challenge we have received a number of medals for our wines across the years.

In 2016 our 2010 Classic Cuvée was awarded Silver in the International Wine Challenge, while most recently in 2020 our 2011 Blanc de Blancs, 2014 Classic Cuvée, 2013 Sparkling Rosé and the 2018 Chardonnay picked up medals at the Independent English Wine Awards.
