About our wine.

Is your wine organic?

Tickerage is not organic, however we operate a minimal intervention policy both in the vineyard and the winery. This means we only spray when there is disease pressure and try and limit the number of sprays to 6-8 per season.

What is minimal intervention?

We try and limit the amount of processes that the grapes have to go through. This might mean reducing the amount of sprays carried out per season, or not filtering the wine. We figure the less we interrupt the natural process, the better the final product.

What does ‘vegan friendly’ mean?

We do not use any animal products in the creation of our wines. Typically some wines are fined using animal by products, if we do feel the need to filter a wine we only use non animal based products.

What is long lees ageing?

We use the Traditional Method to add the bubbles to the wine. This means our secondary fermentation is carried out in the bottle, and the dead yeast - or lees - is trapped in the bottle as the wines age. Current UK guidelines stipulate the wine must age on the lees for a minimum of 90 days. We age for at least five years and in most cases much longer.

How do you choose which grapes go into each wine?

Blending is carried out before bottling, in the summer after harvest. By fermenting different parcels of grapes separately in the winery, we are able to combine these differing base wines to make (what we consider!) the best blend to go into bottle.

About delivery and returns.

How quickly do you deliver?

We aim to have orders placed before 12pm delivered by 4pm the next working day. Locally we try and deliver the same day as order.

Do I have to sign for delivery?

As Tickerage is an alcoholic product the courier will require proof of age before delivery.

Can I collect directly from the vineyard?

We are happy for you to collect your order from the vineyard, however please let us know in advance when you intend to arrive as Anthony is most often out in the fields tending the vines.

Can I return wine I don’t like?

We are confident you will love our wines, if we didn’t like them we wouldn’t sell them! We use Diam corks which are the only cork closures that are sensorially neutral, freed from the molecules causing organoleptic deviations including TCA, responsible for cork taint.

If, however, you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us to discuss options.

How do I return wine?

Unopened wine will need to be returned to us in a saleable condition for a full refund.

Events, tours and tastings.

Can I visit the vineyard and winery?

We love hosting tours and tastings, however we do not operate a drop in service . Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we would love to put together a package to suit you.

When can I visit?

We are open all year round, please contact us directly to discuss your specific requirements.

Can I hire the winery for private events?

Depending on when you are reading this we may limited by current regulations regarding the winery, however please feel free to contact us and discuss how we can help you realise your idea!
