Winemakers notes.

A very wet and stormy winter from December 2013 through to mid February 2014 meant pruning was a real labour of love, but we escaped any really cold weather and the snow, which seemed to be becoming commonplace.

March and April were warm and dry, and this continued for much of the growing season. September proved to be another glorious month once the schools were back and we picked most of the main vineyards on 12th-15th October. A snap of poor weather meant we had to delay our final pick of Chardonnay, bringing in the last 1600kg on 30th October.

Whilst we knew the quality of the grapes was good, it wasn’t until a few years later when we did dosage trials that we fully realised the excellence of this particular crop and decided on zero dosage for this Classic Cuvée.
